At The Link, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. We are committed to nurturing the whole child — academically, socially and emotionally — within a caring community where everyone feels valued and a true sense of belonging.
We recognise and celebrate the unique strengths and potential of each young person, creating an inclusive environment where confidence grows, talents are discovered, and every child is given the chance to shine.

We offer a flexible range of support packages, designed to meet the individual needs of each child and young person. Our services can be delivered as standalone support or combined to create a fully bespoke package that evolves as needs change.
Our provision includes:
The Link AP, Fressingfield
Home and Community Outreach
Academic Tutoring
School Outreach
Every package is built around the child. We take time to understand their strengths, challenges, interests and aspirations, working collaboratively with families, schools and professionals to create a programme that is responsive, flexible and impactful.
The Link is a bespoke provision led by an experienced teacher and a team of specialist staff. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, specifically designed to support children and young people with SEMH needs.
We place a strong emphasis on building self-esteem, resilience and confidence, equipping pupils with the skills they need to succeed both in education and beyond. Through a carefully integrated model of structured classroom learning and enriching experiences within a natural environment, we create meaningful opportunities for growth.
Children are encouraged to explore their interests and discover their strengths through a wide range of engaging activities, including outdoor learning, cooking, campfires, woodwork, animal care and much more. Regular visits within the local community further extend learning beyond the classroom, helping pupils to develop independence, social skills and real-world understanding in meaningful, supported contexts.
By nurturing individual passions and providing opportunities both on-site and in the wider community, we help every young person develop a sense of achievement, purpose and belonging.
Alongside our provision in Fressingfield, we offer Home and Community Outreach support for children and young people who are not yet ready to access traditional off-site Alternative Provision (AP).
Our early intervention outreach is designed to gently re-engage learners at a pace that feels safe and achievable for them. Through consistent, relationship-based support, we help children rebuild trust, develop confidence and take positive steps towards future participation in education or structured AP.
This support is not solely for children with SEMH needs. We also work with younger children and those working towards early play, interaction and communication goals. Sessions may focus on developing attention, turn-taking, language skills, emotional regulation and readiness for learning, using play-based and practical approaches tailored to each child’s developmental stage.
Whether delivered at home or within the local community, our outreach packages are carefully personalised. We work closely with families, schools and professionals to create a bespoke plan that meets the individual needs of the child — supporting not just academic progress, but social development, independence and overall wellbeing.

We offer personalised academic tutoring delivered either in the home or at a local community venue, designed around each child’s unique learning needs and goals. Our tutors work one-to-one to build confidence, address gaps in learning and support progression across core subjects. Every tutoring package begins with a detailed assessment to identify strengths, areas for development and clear, achievable targets. From there, sessions are carefully planned to match the learner’s pace, style and interests, combining structured teaching with creative, motivating activities.
This support is ideal for children and young people who are re-establishing engagement with learning, or pupils requiring targeted intervention alongside their mainstream or alternative provision placement. Our focus is on building skills that transfer into everyday learning — boosting attainment, resilience and a sense of achievement. Through regular review and close collaboration with families, schools, and other professionals, we ensure tutoring remains relevant, impactful and tailored to individual progress.
Our experienced team offers specialist support to schools, providing practical guidance and tailored strategies to help staff meet the needs of individual pupils. We work collaboratively alongside school teams to build confidence, strengthen inclusive practice and create sustainable approaches that make a lasting difference.
This support can include in-school modelling of strategies, where our practitioners demonstrate effective techniques in real-time within the classroom environment. By working directly with pupils and staff, we help translate theory into practical, manageable approaches that can be embedded into everyday practice.
We also provide tailored CPD designed around the specific needs of your setting — whether focusing on SEMH, early communication and interaction, relational approaches, behaviour support, or adaptive teaching strategies. Training is practical, evidence-informed and responsive to the challenges schools are currently facing.
In addition, we offer shadowing opportunities at our provision, enabling school staff to observe our approaches in action. These placements provide valuable insight into our integrated model, giving professionals the confidence and tools to adapt and implement strategies within their own setting.
Our aim is not simply to advise, but to work in partnership — empowering schools with the knowledge, skills and ongoing support needed to help every child succeed.
